How We Test and Review Products
Our Mission
NowLetsGet exists to cut through marketing noise and help you buy the right product the first time. Every review is based on real-world testing data, not rewritten press releases.
Research Process
For every review page, we follow the same process:
- Market research - We identify 15-30 products in each category and shortlist based on verified specifications, user reviews, and expert testing data.
- Spec verification - Manufacturer claims are cross-referenced with independent test results. Many brands exaggerate specifications (projector lumens is a common example) - we call this out.
- Shortlisting - We narrow to 3-5 products that represent the best options at different price points or for different use cases.
- Deep evaluation - Each shortlisted product is evaluated against criteria specific to the article topic. A "best vacuum for stairs" review prioritises weight and handle ergonomics, not just suction power.
Category-Specific Testing
Audio Equipment
Headphones, speakers, and audio interfaces are evaluated for sound signature, build quality, comfort during extended use, and value. We reference frequency response measurements, impedance curves, and real-world listening tests. Comparisons (X vs Y articles) are always between products in the same price bracket.
Gaming Peripherals
Mice are tested for sensor accuracy, weight, and grip style compatibility. Keyboards are evaluated for switch feel, latency, and build quality. Monitors are compared on response time, panel type, and colour accuracy - not just refresh rate marketing.
Projectors
We reference independent brightness (ANSI lumens) and contrast measurements, not manufacturer claims. Most budget projectors advertise false brightness figures - we highlight the gap between claimed and measured specs. Input lag, fan noise, throw ratio, and smart OS quality are all evaluated.
Cleaning Products
Robot vacuums are tested for suction power, navigation efficiency, brush tangle resistance, and noise level. Cordless vacuums are evaluated for weight distribution, battery life, and attachment versatility. Steam mops are compared on heat output, grout cleaning effectiveness, and pad quality.
How We Pick Winners
Every review page names a "Winner" and a "Best Value" pick. These are determined by:
- Winner - The product that performs best at the specific task described in the article title. Not necessarily the most expensive.
- Best Value - The product that delivers the best performance-per-pound (or dollar). This is often the sweet spot recommendation for most buyers.
- Runner Up - A strong alternative that might suit different preferences or budgets.
We do not accept payment for placement. Product rankings are based entirely on performance data and editorial judgement.
Affiliate Disclosure
NowLetsGet is funded through affiliate commissions. When you click a product link and make a purchase on Amazon, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we fund our research and keep the site free to use.
Affiliate relationships never influence our rankings or recommendations. We recommend products we would genuinely buy ourselves - if a product is not worth your money, it does not appear on our site.
Keeping Content Current
Product markets move fast. We review and update articles regularly to reflect new product releases, price changes, and discontinued items. Every article displays a "Last Updated" date so you know how current the information is.
