Buying from the UK

More than a third of this site's readers are in Europe, and the UK is one of the largest groups. Most guides were researched against US listings, so here is what that means for you and what to check before you buy.

What prices you will see

Prices on guides are in US dollars unless a regional store is wired in. Where we link to a regional store (EcoFlow in France and the Netherlands, eufy in France, today), readers whose browser is set to that language see the local price and store name instead. We do not have a UK store feed yet, so we do not show pounds: a converted figure would be a guess, and UK prices rarely match a straight conversion. Treat the dollar price as a ranking signal and check the current price at a UK retailer.

What differs when you buy in the UK

  • VAT. UK shelf prices include 20% VAT. US prices are quoted before sales tax, so the gap to a UK price is not a simple exchange rate.
  • Returns and rights. For online purchases, the Consumer Contracts Regulations give you 14 days to cancel, and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 covers goods that are faulty or not as described. Both apply to UK retailers and are one reason to buy from one.
  • Plugs and voltage. The UK uses 230V and Type G plugs. This matters most for power stations, chargers and appliances, where a US-market unit may not be sold or supported here.
  • Model numbers. The same product often carries a different model code in the UK. Match on the product name and spec, not the code in a US review.
  • Warranty. A grey import from a US seller may carry a US-only warranty. A UK retailer's listing is the safest route.

Guides most worth reading

The full list is on the All Guides page. For how we earn money and keep recommendations independent, see Editorial Policy.

Prices and availability are as of the date shown and change often. Some links pay us a commission at no cost to you: today that is EcoFlow and eufy, through Awin, in some countries. Amazon and other shop links earn us nothing right now. I haven't tested the products myself unless a page says so. A paying link never moves a pick.
